Today is my birthday.  Yeah for me! LOL!  My parents went all out this year and surprised me with a brand new De Walt Scroll Saw.  OMG I love it.  It puts my old scroll saw to shame.  My new one has a longer neck so I can cut bigger puzzles.  It has a huge table 3 times bigger than my old one and it's so quiet.  I'll bet my neighbors will like that.  But the best thing about my new scroll saw is the way it cuts.   It cuts like butter.  So smooth and it hardly pulls up on the wood at all.  Unlike my old saw that jerked the wood violently and broke pieces what a pain.  Well I could go on and on about my scroll saw so I'll think I'll end this post for today.  I'm sure this is not the last time that you hear about my new saw.  It's just sooooooo cool!  If you own a scroll saw I'd love to hear about it. Please leave your comment below.

Today I started working on a brand new children's wooden jigsaw puzzle of a whole bunch of fish.  I'm using a traditional knob cutting style with several figurals of fish.  It has a wavy border.  The pieces are very small.  This wooden puzzle is meant for children 8-adult.  I will finish this puzzle tomorrow.   Along with the jigsaw puzzle, I cut another brand new children's  3D puzzle of a T-Rex and I cut one of my children's wooden 3D counting snail puzzles.  Tomorrow I will sand and paint the two puzzles.   I'll post pictures of the new puzzles when I finish them.

Every once in a while I make wooden letter cut-outs for  www.CreativeCustomCardboxes.com . Anyway... she ordered a capital N for a sample she was making.  So I cut it out and mailed it off.  Today I sold the counting snail puzzle that I cut the other day. Yeah! I also finished the wooden 3D tree puzzle.  I'll tell you this is one challenging puzzle!  It took me over two hours putting it together and I was using the pattern I cut the wood with as a cheat sheet.  When painting it was difficult to tell which pieces were inside pieces and which edges needed to be painted.  I ended up putting the puzzle together from scratch 4 times.  Each time was just as hard as the first time.  This puzzle measures 9" x7" x 1" and has 60 pieces.  Because this puzzle is such a challenge to make as well as put together, I have decided to make this a limited edition.  This particular puzzle will be numbered #1 and signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.  I also have a larger version of this puzzle which measures 12" x 10" x 1".  It will be numbered #2.  I will only make 20 of these.  Puzzle #1 will sell for $45.00.  Puzzle #2 will sell $55.00

For a limited time I will have these new tree puzzles on sale. Tree No. 1 will be on sale for only $25.00. No 2. will sell for $35.00

With the arts and craft fair season approaching really soon, I decided to make a new shelving set up for this year.  My new set up should be much faster to set up and tear down plus it should give me more room to display my puzzles.  I also made new stands for my puzzles so that the wind won't blow them over like last year.  So today my Dad and I went shopping and bought all the lumber and cut it to size.  I'll probably finish next weekend.  Well that's all I have to report today.  See ya next time.

It's been a few days since I have last made an entry.  I've been very busy learning how to make 3D objects with my scroll saw.  Now I can make Christmas ornaments and actual objects that look 3 Dimensional instead of 2D.  Here's a picture of some of my work.

Also I have finally earned enough to pay for another year of web site hosting YEAH!  So  this site will be live for at least another year.  I sold number 8 of my limited edition motorcycles.

I also sold a photo puzzle for someones sisters fifth anniversary (it's the wood anniversary).  It turned out really nice. She's going to frame it after they put it together.  A look at what's to come: I just ordered three new books a fantasy puzzles book, another puzzle book and a 3D objects book.  Hopefully they will inspire some new work.
