My Puzzle Blog Sept. 09
Sept. 03,2009
Well I have had a fun time selling at the farmers market in Northridge but this week was my last week for the year there. I am currently looking for new venues to sell my work. I think I might try the farmers market in Simi Valley where I live. Its put on by the same people who put on the market in Northridge. I'm also looking into the Saugus Swap Meet and the arts and crafts by the sea in Ventura.

s so I thought you might be interested too. Mind you this is a picture after a marathon work session and I haven't had time to clean up yet. But at least you can see what a whirlwind of activity goes on in my little single apartment / workshop. As you can see in the picture my little workshop consists of a small workspace by the door and in the closet. You can see both my old and new scroll saws, my sanders, my scraps pile, and my painting bench. Its a small space but big things happen in it. This has to be hands down my smallest workshop. But it works for me.
Until next time...

So I have learned a new cutting style. I had just finished making one of my Limited Edition Wooden 3D Puzzle - Tree. It was so much fun cutting all the loops and
curves. The wood was in constant movement it was great! Anyway... Next I needed to cut a custom wood burned jigsaw puzzle for a customer and I thought what fun it would be to have pieces like the tree. So I just started cutting loop after loop with curves connecting them. I was turning the wood like crazy. It was so much fun. Here's a pic of the puzzle when I was done.

I've also been working on two new woodburned jigsaw puzzles. Here's a picture of them before I cut it. The one with the two angels is a custom order and the other one was just to cute. I just had to make it.

I've still been doing the farmers market every week. The simi valley one is a lot slower than the Northridge one that I was going to. The one great advantage that I have doing the Simi Valley one is that I live right down the street. It gives me the opportunity to spread the word locally. This way if my customers are not ready to buy quite yet, they can order on the Internet but save themselves the shipping charge.
Well that's what is new with me. Until next time...
